Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Outpatient Procedure Prep/Recovery unit, you will be responsible for nursing care and related assistance for adult and geriatric patients with a broad range of illnesses. This is a short stay/discharge RN for a procedural patient. Patient will have recovered in PACU or CV pre-post. Once recovered, some patients may need to stay for 4-6 hours.

  • Desirable day (10:30a-7:00pm) work schedule with 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday; no call, holiday or weekends.
  • Roughly 3:1 ratio.
  • Opportunity to cross train to PACU & Prep & Recovery.
  • Level II Trauma Center, an Accredited Chest Pain Center.
  • Strong cohesive unit with experience. Dedicated to training and development for future career paths.

Responsibilities:


  • Under the general direction of the Cardiology Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care as related to the Cardiology Department.
  • Administers medications, supervises cardiac stress tests and other non-invasive cardiac testing according to defined protocols, monitors patient vital signs and other appropriate hemodynamics, and performs continual patient assessment during patient’s stay in the Cardiology Department.
  • Documents accurate nursing records and patient data.
  • Coordinates patient teaching and post procedure assessment.
  • Performs emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation if necessary.
  • The RN participates in departmental, hospital performance improvement, and continuous quality improvement activities.

What Qualifications You Will Need:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current state nursing license required; BLS certification required upon hire. ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment. PALS certification required within 1 year of employment. Excellent interpersonal and team skills required. Basic computer knowledge preferred.
  • Minimum of one-year nursing experience in a cardiology related field required.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
