The responsibility of the RN in the pre and post op area of our endoscopy unit includes the following;
1. Prep patient for endoscopy
2. Explain and obtain consent to the patient for the procedure to be performed
3. Assist patient with change of clothes to gown as needed
4. Start the patients IV's for fluids and obtain and record all vitals.
5. Assist with presenting patient to OR.
6. Assist with removing stretcher from the OR.
7. Record and obtain patient vitals until fully awake.
8. Remove IV and discuss instructions as determined by the doctor as a result of the endoscopic procedure performed.
9. Assist patient with dressing as needed
10. Obtain and provide discharge to patient and their family.
11. Assist the patient to their car.
12. Prepare the Pathology specimens by completing the path request by adding patients demographics and determing where the specimen was taken from and adding that information to the request.
13. Scheduling additional procedures as requested by physician and sending in prescriptions ordered by the doctor.
14. Most important nursing staff will stay until all work is complete.

We would prefer to have fully vaccinated RN staff. If there is a medical reason or a religious reason for not being vaccinated we will review status with the new employee. Masks are required and all PPE regulations followed in our office.

Education:
- Bachelor's (Preferred)
Experience:
- Nursing: 3 years (Preferred)
Language:
- English, Spanish or Vietnamese (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- BLS Certification (Preferred)
- RN (Preferred)
- Registered nurse license and updated (Preferred)
Security clearance:
- Confidential (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
