RESPONSIBILITIES

• Triage and provide appropriate care for employee injuries and illnesses following medical protocols.
• Coordinate and conduct screenings to include electrocardiogram (EKG), lab (with phlebotomy), glucose testing, strep screens, urine dip test. hemoccult, vision (using Snellen, Stereo Optical or Titmus) and audiometry.
• Administer vaccinations, over the counter medications and allergy injections per medical protocols.
• Recognize clinical abnormalities and follow up with appropriate action per medical protocols.
• Counsel employees on preventative health measures and procedures.
• Provide consultation for employees and supervisors on a broad range of health issues and medical diagnoses.
• First Responder providing first aid and CPR in emergency situations following BLS protocols.
• Coordinate and review employee physicals to include employee post-offer (pre-screening), wellness, medical surveillance and fit for duty.
• Report and follow-up on needle stick and body fluid exposures, including detailed record of occurrences.
• Transcription of physician dictated encounters.
• Schedule comprehensive employee health maintenance examinations.
• Collect and document employee data and information according to empirical data, history and clinical findings.
• Maintain employee medical files within federal guidelines, ensuring confidentiality and privacy of health and personal information.
• Maintain a daily census and a log of activities including medical service or assistance rendered.
• Coordinate with the physician and government nurse to provide high quality patient care in a caring and professional manner.
• Up to 10% travel to project sites located in Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, and Tennessee to provide services including but not limited to vaccines, mini-health fairs and agency picnics, clinic visits and training for employees and supervisors according to State Law and Nursing License. The submitted candidate must be able to travel to all listed states. Kentucky has a compact nurse licensure available for multiple states.

Education:

Minimum educational requirement is an Associate Degree (ADN) or Diploma Program in Nursing.

Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year working as a Registered Nurse in an Occupational Health Clinic and five (5) years in an Urgent Care, Emergency Department, or Ambulatory Care License, Certification and Insurance:
• Current, active, and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
• Current/Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Nurses should have Personal Nurses Liability Insurance - $1,000,000.00 Per Claim.
