Role Summary

Under the direction of the Materials Manager, the Release Analyst ensures accurate releases are sent out to the Suppliers & timely receipt of purchase parts from suppliers and serves as the primary contact for suppliers and logistics carriers as well as maintaining an accurate inventory within the ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize ERP (CMS) to generate release forecasts (830’s) and daily ship schedules (862’s) to Suppliers
• Determine appropriate stock levels and required space for purchase parts, help create layouts and picking routes for material delivery
• Maintain JIT communications with Supplier and ensure Suppliers are shipping to the provided 862 releases
• Work with Supplier on past dues and escalate as needed
• Clearly communicate all deviations, shortage or overages daily and reasons for the change
• Analyse Supplier releases to ensure Supplier orders support our Production plan
• Communicate any component shortages to Materials Manager and follow our escalation process
• Provide data to Materials team to promote lean inventory levels in accordance with defined safety stock levels
• Takes part in the continuous improvement process to improve productivity and quality (provides suggestions at team meetings, understands losses and gives ideas/solutions, participates in trials/experiments, volunteers on committee or focus group activities, etc.) and focuses on solutions
• Work with Quality on getting RMA# for vendor returns and Process vendor return posting in CMS
• Ensure QPF’s and issued for all DR’s to Suppliers for Delivery issues
• Other duties as required

Key Qualifications/Requirements

• Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and with a variable workload
• Assist with BOM reviews
• Assist with annual MMOG self-audit
• Ensure trucking to/from Suppliers is in place to cover requirements on the 862 releases
• Review truckload utilization for all Supplier trucks weekly and work on recommendations for release strategies to optimize truck utilization
• Work with Materials Manager, North American Logistics Manager, Purchasing and Carriers to lower freight costs
• Strong organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrate a maturity of judgement, leadership skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational, listening, communication and presentation skills in all aspects of the job function
• Excellent math skills with the ability to apply to cost and analyze data
• Ability to work flexible hours in a fast-paced environment in order to meet customer requirements
• Must be able to interact effectively with other team members
• Work closely with all departments that impact inventory accuracy to determine root cause for inventory inaccuracies
• Maintain departmental filing system
• Assist in physical inventory events
• Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact

Additional Information

• High School Diploma
• Associates degree preferred
• Hands on ERP usage and understanding
