Overview of Position

Well-designed facilities with proper maintenance and engineering can dramatically impact the reliability, operability and safety of the site ($300 million in fixed assets). Leads the effort to maintain and to improve the reliability of process and utility equipment.

This position impacts the performance of all site operations on a day to day basis by providing the proper technical support in solving problems and by eliminating failures through implantation of reliability centered maintenance and preventive maintenance optimization programs. His/her efforts always include the highest standards with regard to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) practices along with cost effective programs and solutions.

Responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of mechanical integrity and inspection processes. Develops engineering solutions to maintenance problems- identify, scope, and execute capital projects associated with improving plant reliability. The reliability engineer is the technical expert who analyzes equipment issues and develops solutions. Manages the plant standards for the equipment, components, spare parts and installation. This person will both lead and participate in incident investigations as necessary to identify root causes and define action plans to eliminate them.

Job Highlights

  • Direct Mechanical Integrity program of site to ensure safety of site assets and to ensure their availability to meet market demands
  • Manage external resources to perform criticality assessments of plant assets and statutory inspections
  • Apply technical expertise to define the most appropriate maintenance strategies to ensure and enhance asset health
  • Drive continuous improvement and failure reduction processes in order to contribute to stable and reliable operations with concurrent reduction of total costs
  • Manage equipment records to include digitalization of records.
  • Define specifications for fixed assets
  • Conduct Incident investigations through recognized methodologies
  • :Participate as team member in definition of capital projects to increase unit productivity

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Mechanical or Chemical Preferred
  • 5+ years experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Advanced knowledge in rotating and fixed equipment troubleshooting skills
