The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate for a full-time Research Scientist I in the Division of Systems Neuroscience. The Research Scientist will work in the Neural Circuits lab on an NIH-funded project examining how chronic stress disrupts reward-seeking and its associated neural circuitry, using a combination of in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology and optogenetics in awake-behaving mice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The candidate will design and conduct multi-site in vivo recordings, optogenetic manipulations, and multiple stress and reward-seeking behavioral experiments, analyze the data, present at conferences, and write/submit manuscripts. May also supervise junior scientists.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in an appropriate field or master's degree in an appropriate field may substitute for one year of the experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD. in neuroscience with expertise in electrophysiology, circuit dissection, and animal behavior

Experience in coding in MATLAB/Python. Experience with ML approaches.
