Seeking a Resident Engineer to work on the Red Hook Fields project with the Department of Parks and Recreation in Brooklyn. The ideal candidate’s resume must include a project list of work completed in the last 3 years along with managerial and technical qualifications.

The scope involves building up fill on top of two existing fields in Red Hook and then constructing new synthetic turf soccer fields; they are elevating the fields both to cap suspected contaminated soils and to get out of the flood plain. The site includes two fields immediately to the north and immediately to the south of Bay Street, between Clinton and Court (known as Soccer Fields 1 and 6) in Red Hook, Brooklyn. The duration of the project is approximately 18-20 months.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Baccalaureate Degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited college or university and/or Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Construction Management, preferably with specialization in environmental remediation
  • OSHA 30 certification is required
  • A driver's license valid in New York State.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with all applicable software packages including but not limited to MS Windows; MS Office (including Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all activities of project and ensure compliance to all plans and specifications and identify all errors in plans and ensure optimal working of construction personnel.
  • Manage and maintain accurate field notes and maintain flow of technical information and prepare comprehensive assessment reports.
  • Ensure tests and inspections are performed.
  • Oversee working of all engineering personnel and inspect all materials and assist to resolve all construction process and recommend improvement to all construction activities and ensure compliance to specifications and construction schedule and prepare all progress reports.
  • Prepare all project documents and design all purchase orders and project schedules and ensure compliance to all health and safety policies and participate in evaluation of all engineer personnel.
