What will I be doing as a Resident in Mental Health Counseling?

• Completing Comprehensive Assessments

• Working with individuals and families in the outpatient office setting, as well as meeting them where they are in the community

• Crisis intervention and treatment planning

• Fully licensed therapists may assist with oversight of clinical service provision for the team

Am I a good fit as a Resident in Mental Health Counseling?

• Successful staff exude a passion for serving vulnerable individuals and families

• A flexible schedule is important for this role, and allows you to have control over your session planning

• Ability to work independently and manage time well

• Ability to collaborate with a team to accomplish goals

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in a Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or a Related field
• Meets current requirements to receive approval as a Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work in the state of Virginia
• Preferred: approved by the board as a Resident in Counseling or Supervisee in Social Work in the state of Virginia
• Preferred at least one year of Direct Care Experience
• Excellent writing and communication skills: May be required to submit a writing sample
• Candidates must be available to work afternoon and evening hours

Full-time Residents at Health Connect America are eligible to receive supervision towards their Licensure from a Board Approved Supervisor.
