Lake Tahoe Preparatory School seeks experienced therapeutic boarding school residential staff, wilderness field staff, or others with significant experience working with adolescents, for the 2022-2023 school year and Summer School 2023. 9.5-month salary: $60,000, additional summer program: $11,000. Positions available in both the Boys' and Girls' Dormitories.

The ideal applicant is someone who...

• Has 1-5 years of experience working with teenagers in a residential setting
• Is caring and friendly, yet also firm with holding boundaries and student accountability
• Versatile individuals that enjoy working with teenagers on a school campus
• Enjoys outdoor recreation and mountain sports
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field: Youth Leadership, Social Work, Outdoor Education, Psychology etc.
• Takes an interest in skiing and/or snowboarding
• Wants to live where other people vacation

Requirements:

Residential Life Staff members are responsible for...

• Attending to the needs, health, safety, and wellness of the students under their care
• Supervising student residential life on campus from the evening through the morning hours on weekdays and weekends.
• Chaperoning students for activities, athletics, and outdoor adventure experiences.
• Sleeping overnight on campus within their own apartments, ready to wake up in case of emergencies.
• Building appropriate relationships of trust with students.
• Proctoring nightly study hall
• Carrying out daily room inspections
• Helping students to wake up and exit the dorm in time for breakfast and classes
• The health and wellness of our students
• Responding to student behavior with appropriate positive and negative consequences
