Rock Creek Foundation is currently in search of Residential Counselors to work with courageous, high functioning individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental illnesses in our residential homes in Silver Spring, MD.

What You'll Do:

  • Assist in planning recreational activities.
  • Counsel residents in identifying and resolving social or other problems.
  • Responsible for medication administration, treatment plan implementation and household duties.
  • Compile records of daily activities of residents. Writes and submits incident reports as needed.
  • Supervise group-sponsored trips and social functions.
  • Determine need for and secures services of physician.
  • Answers telephone and sort and distribute mail.
  • Escort individuals on trips outside establishment for shopping or to obtain medical or dental services.
  • Comply with COMAR, MHP and Company regulations.
  • Implement resident rehabilitation plans and record appropriate data.
  • Record and submit all necessary documentation for billing.

What We Require:

  • High School Diploma and one (1) year of related experience.
  • Able to obtain DDA Med Administration Certificate.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with no more than two (2) points as well as current automobile insurance, and a personal vehicle.

  • COVID-19 Vaccine Bonus: New Hires who submit proof of up-to date vaccination prior to starting with the Company will receive a one-time special payment of $500.   • Sign-on bonus of $1,000.00 payable in two installments ($500.00 with first pay check, $500.00 after satisfactory completion of six-month probationary period).

Multiple Shifts Available:

  • Every Other Weekend (48 Hours)
  • Monday-Friday (4:00 pm-12:00 am)
  • Weekend Shifts (48 Hours)

Must be able to work with “high-risk” consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities.
