Asheville Emporium is seeking personable and motivated individuals to join our team!

Asheville Emporium's mission is "to celebrate creativity and connection." We represent many artisans ranging from local to global and have partnered with many nonprofits to date. We are a small team of dedicated individuals who enjoy learning and bettering this enterprise together. Heidi Swann-our founder-recently received "Small Business Leader of the Year Award for 2018" from the Asheville Chamber of Commerce. On a typical day at the Emporium, we have 100-700 visitors with both locals and folks from everywhere who are visiting Asheville.

Position Outline

• greet customers as they enter
• engage through conversation and honest recommendations with customers to further sales
• maintain facility in a clean and organized manner
• process sales transactions accurately and efficiently
• provide concise area information to guests
• process incoming merchandise and clothing, restock as needed
• light cleaning duties
• key-holder open/closing duties

Job Requirements:

• friendly, self motivated, honest and conscientious
• 1 year retail sales experience preferred
• excellent communication skills and ability to interact with public
• knowledge of Asheville's cultural highlights and amenities
• ability to work a flexible schedule that included some evenings and weekends.
• functional computer and software literacy
• reliable transportation
• ability to lift 35 lbs
• ability to adapt to seasonal scheduling changes and needs of the Emporium
• excellent references
