We are looking for a high-performing, customer-oriented, and sales-driven Retail Associate who will be responsible for helping customers with hot tub needs such as water analysis, spa chemical sales, and creating an unforgettable customer experience in our brand new retail store. This is a customer-facing position in a fast-paced environment where you will get the opportunity to interact with repeat and new customers and help them maximize their backyard paradise. In addition to customer-facing responsibilities, you will help ensure the shelves are stocked with spa chemicals, accessories, and cleaning products. On the job training will be provided to help you learn about hot tub water analysis and improve inventory stocking procedures.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze hot tub water using computerized water analysis technology.
  • Recommend, select, and help locate products based on customer needs and/or water analysis results
  • Compute sales prices, total purchases, and receive and process cash or credit payment
  • Answer customers’ questions about specific products/services
  • Coordinate with other team members to create memorable customer experiences including but not limited to helping to keep the store clean, ensure the floorplan is inviting and customer-centric, suggest ways to improve the customer journey
  • Provide customer feedback to the Store Manager
  • Continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences
  • Perform opening and closing procedures including, but not limited to, cleaning the building, vacuuming, picking up trash out of the parking lot, and other general cleaning before opening.

EXPERIENCE

  • 1 year of customer service experience
  • Knowledge of hot tubs and water chemistry, preferred but not required

SKILLS

  • Speaking— communicate information and ideas clearly in a way that helps build trusting relationships
  • Service-oriented—Actively look for ways to help solve customer problems and make their life easier even before the problem arises
  • Troubleshooting—Determine causes of hot tub water chemistry issues and decide how to resolve them
  • Familiarity with consumer behavior principles
  • Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
  • Basic math skills
  • Knowledge of inventory stocking procedures

WORK CONTEXT

  • Hourly, 40 hour work week
  • 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Tuesday - Saturday
  • The store is closed on Sunday and Monday
  • Answering phone calls – 5%
  • Face-to-face customer interactions – 70%
  • Stocking and re-ordering merchandise – 20%
  • Training/on the job learning – 5%
