POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Retail Director, the Retail Store Assistant will assist with managing inventory for the Camp Sea Gull/Sea Farer stores and the online store, as well as assist in the packaging and shipping of online orders.

This position is located at our coastal overnight camps in Arapahoe, NC-Camp Sea Gull/Seafarer-and will not be a live-on-site assignment.

They are responsible for managing these functions in accordance with the stated mission, goals, and policies established by the administrative staff, governing committees, and Board of Directors of the YMCA.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Assists in unpacking, counting, barcoding, tagging and setting up new products in Shopify.
• Maintains a safe and clean Store and assists with setting up for weekend events.
• Manages the day to day orders in a timely manner and assists with online fulfillment.
• Assists in moving product from storage facilities to Retail Stores at Camp Sea Gull and Camp Seafarer and restocking inventory as needed.
• Other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
• Models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. Maintains regular, clear, and concise communication within area of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma/GED preferred with 1-2 years Customer Service/Retail experience.
• Previous experience with Point of Sale systems and an ability to quickly learn our Retail Portal Technology.
• Strong computer skills with ability to quickly learn and navigate a retail point of sale system.
• Exceptional communication, organization, and customer service skills a must with the initiative to be a self-starter with great attention to detail.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Multi-lingual desired but not required.
