Overview of role:

Are you a high-energy individual who loves cycling and the outdoors? If so, we have an opportunity for you! We are looking for a Store Manager with experience in retail and/or the outdoor industry. This position, which comes with a $1,500 signing bonus for long-term employees only after 6 months, reports to the Retail Division Manager and provides leadership for the day-to-day operations, staffing, marketing, and merchandising of the assigned store. The Store Manager ensures that the high standards of the PEARL iZUMi Brand are maintained throughout the operation at all times. The Store Manager is responsible for driving traffic to the store, as well as providing an environment where team members offer outstanding customer service to each and every customer who walks into our store. This person will work directly with store team members and home office team to achieve PEARL iZUMi’s goals, and is ultimately responsible for the successful operation of the store.

Second, you’ll support PEARL iZUMi’s mission to use bikes as a force for good in the fight against climate change, as the gear you outfit the guest in creates the opportunity for them to ride instead of drive, for everything from fun in the mountains to simple community transportation.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

People Development

  • Hire, train, supervise and develop all staff within the store to offer the best customer service in the industry.
  • Establish store sales standards, including conversion rate, Items Per Transaction (IPT’s), Average Dollars per Sale (ADS), email capture, etc.
  • Motivates staff to achieve daily, weekly and monthly goals.
  • Establishes an open-door policy where all team members can share and exchange ideas and opinions.
  • Creates an environment of respectful, honest and direct communication with all levels of the PI team.
  • Directs regular training clinics on product knowledge, sales presentation, and POS operations.
  • Teaches and trains the entire staff on security and loss prevention techniques.
  • Conducts team member performance reviews; sets goals and coaches employees as necessary.
  • Acts as a positive role model for the store team as well as the local community

Customer Service

  • Ensures the team is focused on building a customer for life with every store visit.
  • Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of PEARL iZUMi products, shares with team members and seeks training and support when needed.
  • Honors our lifetime warranty and makes the greatest effort to enhance the customer's perception of the PEARL iZUMi brand even when they are returning the product - make it simple for the customer.

Store Operations

  • Schedules staff based on customer traffic. Peak periods are covered to enable great customer service.
  • Processes payroll on a timely basis.
  • Orders the appropriate merchandise assortment to meet local demand and liquidates slower-moving products as quickly and profitably as possible.
  • Receives all merchandise into the RPro system and operates POS to maintain inventory accuracy. Regularly audits inventory to ensure accuracy.
  • Manages and achieves all store budgets, including all sales and expenses.
  • Ensures daily bank deposits are prepared and performed according to the procedure.
  • Responsible for Loss Prevention within the store.
  • Completes all required weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Review and analyze the monthly P&L statement with the direct supervisor.
  • Performs and ensures all store functions, including sales, daily opening and closing are completed satisfactorily.

Visual & Merchandising

  • Maintains corporate visual and merchandising standards.
  • Creates a customer-friendly environment that projects the PEARL iZUMi Brand consistently and grows consumer demand for our products.
  • Ensures all signing and merchandising represents the PEARL iZUMi Brand as the premier cycling and active athletic brand.
  • Eliminates anything that visually detracts from the PEARL iZUMi brand in the store.
  • Reviews and advises the Operations Manager of display or merchandising opportunities.

Marketing

  • Develops annual marketing plan and identifies grassroots efforts to grow the business while maintaining great relations with PI dealer base (i.e., off-site events, club programs, gym customers, police & fire departments, etc.)
  • Creatively finds ways in the community to grow customer traffic.
  • Represents our brand consistently in all communications. Every communication should flawlessly represent our brand image.

Pay Transparency

  • The Company is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
  • The salary range for this role in Castel Rock, Colorado is $ 65,000 – $75,000
  • In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation, such as a bonus. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including health & wellness benefits, retirement, time off, employee discounts, and others.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience preferably in a retail environment is strongly desired.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays and peak periods on a regular basis required.
  • Sales, customer service, and supervisory skills training required.
  • Knowledge of or experience in the cycling and/or running industry required.
  • Passion for cycling and athletics required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel is desired.
  • Ability to relocate is desired.
  • Ability to stand on feet all day and lift up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
