About the Role:
The Risk Analyst (RA) is responsible for determining the eligibility of healthcare providers seeking coverage under Sound Physician’s medical malpractice insurance policy. The RA is also responsible for determining whether or not each provider is qualified to work at the Sound facility they have been assigned to based on the site’s bylaws and quality assurance standards laid out by Sound Physicians.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all necessary documentation for a thorough medical malpractice (med mal) insurance review has been received by the provider. This documentation includes, but is not limited to completed Echo application if applicable, updated CV, attestation form, Physician Services Agreement, release and authorization form, 1st and 3rd party for any background issues, etc.
  • The RA will run the NPDB reports for all providers going through the med mal review process.
    Ensure that all Sound documents are received and complete (Demographic Form, Authorization and Release of Information Form, Attestation Form, and Current CV).
  • The RA will run the AMA or AOA profile for each physician going through the med mal review.
  • The RA will conduct prime source verification of education for all nurse candidates.
  • The RA will perform online verifications of ALL medical licenses, including DEA and controlled substance registrations, past and present.
  • The RA will perform OIG and SAM queries for all providers going through the med mal process.
  • The RA will perform Google searches for all providers going through the med mal process.
  • The RA will review the following documentation for accuracy: Echo application, Provider Services Agreement, Release of Information, and attestation.
  • The RA will review the CV to ensure all needed information for med mal is included.
  • The RA will ensure that three valid references have been obtained.
  • The RA will ensure that the provider is qualified in the specialty they will be working under through Sound.
  • The RA will further investigate all background issues that arise throughout the review to ensure they fall within the Sound guidelines.
  • The RA will ensure that proper back-up documentation has been received (1st and 3rd party).
  • The RA will escalate any issues as needed to the Director of Risk Management and Credentialing.
  • The RA will determine if a provider’s qualifications meet the requirements specific to each assignment

Education and Experience:

Education
Minimum: High School education or equivalent
Preferred: College degree from an accredited institution or a combination of experience and NAMSS
CPCS Certification

Experience
Minimum: Prior experience in the health services industry or prior experience in a similar administrative role
Preferred: 1-2 years provider credentialing in a hospital Medical Staff Services Office, IPA/Medical Group or physician group practice

Pay Range: $20-$24.04 per hour. Exact pay will be determined based on candidate experience and geographical location.
