Weiss Asset Management (WAM), an investment firm in Boston, is seeking Risk Reporting Analysts to join the risk team. Analysts will analyze data to manage daily risk reporting across our investment portfolio and will triage incoming requests for reporting improvements, coordinating with the software team to construct reporting prototypes. Analysts will also acquire deep familiarity with our risk system (RiskMetrics) and will be expected to troubleshoot risk modelling issues and add and change scenarios in the system. Successful analysts will use their data science backgrounds to contribute in a meaningful way to the growth of a centralized risk management team.

Proficiency in SQL and Python is desired. No prior finance experience is required and 2023 graduates are encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities

  • Run the full risk reporting production process and work with RiskMetrics to improve investment risk analysis results
  • Ensure accurate and effective implementation of risk models and improvements
  • Upload and maintain traded securities on the risk engine on a daily basis
  • Run risk analysis through stress testing and scenario shocks, and identify, investigate and reconcile outliers
  • Design, automate and provide reports for the Head of Risk, portfolio managers and traders
  • Take ownership of documentation of risk assumptions and settings used for the risk systems
