Position: Registered Nurse
Department: PICU
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Pay: $120/hour
Estimated Hours: 40 hours weekly

Job Responsibilities May Include:

• Providing emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times, such as death or serious illness
• Monitoring patient vitals such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiration rate, temperature, and weight on a frequent basis to ensure they are within normal limits
• Monitoring the child’s progress and communicating with other health care professionals regarding treatment plans and patient progress
• Performing physical examinations on patients, including listening to lungs with a stethoscope and checking pulses in arms and legs
• Preparing infants for feeding by suctioning out their noses and mouths with a bulb syringe
• Monitoring the infant’s feeding schedule, administering feeding through a tube that has been inserted into the stomach through the navel, and changing diapers as needed
• Recording information about patient symptoms, reactions to medications, and progress during nursing assessments
• Observing and documenting patient behavior, including interactions with family members, visitors, and staff members
• Providing emotional support to patients and their families during difficult times, such as death or serious illness

Qualifications:

• Full or Temporary Pennsylvania State RN License
• BLS
• Minimum of 1 year of Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience
