Title: Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: Maury Regional Medical Center

Position Shift: PRN

About Our Unit:

· 38 bed unit

· 7 bed locked down area for Behavioral Health patients

· Additional “fast track” area for lower acuity patients

· AHA teaching facility and will pay you to attend required education (Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

· 4:1 nurse to patient ratio/every 4th weekend

· Collaborate with Vanderbilt Peds for quarterly pediatric education.

· 25% pediatric patient population

· Chest Pain Accredited by the ACC

· Primary Stroke Certified Center by Joint Commission

· Working on Trauma Designation currently

Responsibilities:

The duties of an RN may vary depending on the work area, but they generally include the following:

· Observe and record patient behavior

· Perform physical examinations and diagnostic tests

· Collect patient health history

· Counsel and educate patients and their families on treatment plans

· Administer medication, change wound dressings and care for other treatment options

· Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions when appropriate

· Consult with supervisors and doctors to decide on the best treatment plan for patients

· Research ways to improve healthcare processes and improve patient outcomes

Credentials / Education:

· Required: : Registered Nurse (RN)

Active applicable state licensure
