Tutor Doctor of San Diego County is seeking experienced academic tutors to help students one-to-one, in their homes for the remaining weeks of the school year, summer, and next school year.

Positions in highest demand include:

Elementary Tutors- current teachers, substitute teachers - a teaching credential is a plus! Must be able to create fun and engaging lesson plans to improve students' (k-5) reading, writing, and math skills

High School and middle school math

High School Science

High school Spanish

Academic Coaching - homework help, accountability, study skills, organization

SAT and ACT preparation (prior experience with a proven track record of student score success)

Our Ideal Tutor:

• Minimum of 1 year teaching/tutoring experience with references required
• A Bachelor's degree or college student in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree. Teaching credential is a plus.
• Great personality, clear communicator, and the ability to build rapport with students and parents
• Ability to create lesson plans to meet the student's learning objectives
• Must have a minimum of 6-10 hours available for tutoring students
• Must have your own reliable transportation to meet students in their home or library

COMPENSATION: $23-$35 per hour

LOCAL APPLICANTS ONLY!- You must be willing to meet students in at least one of Tutor Doctor's main service areas: 1) Carmel Valley/Del Mar 2) Carlsbad/Encinitas or 3) 4S Ranch/Rancho Bernardo/Poway (please consult Google maps if unsure).

Qualified candidates will contacted for an initial phone interview. Those who pass screening will be invited to a second in-person interview.
