Sanitation

2nd Shift

Pay Range: $23.57/hr - $25.38/hr

Hours: 1:30am to 10:00pm (Overtime as production demands)

Johnsonville Sanitation roles are technical, and crucial to equipment and production floor activities. Equipment and facility sanitation are about more than just cleanliness. Equipment can be perceived to be clean, free from visible dirt, yet still be contaminated with microorganisms. Our Sanitation teams and Team Leaders are the first line of defense in the fight against microorganisms. This role is important for Food Safety; ensuring consumers get a great tasting/performing product that is safe for their families.

Responsibilities

• Consistently manufacture “great tasting” sausage products according to specifications
• Ensure sanitation and food safety specifications are met

• Develop best practices for this new technology
• Participate in daily team meetings and project teams
• Set goals and objectives; both personal and as a team member to acquire "superlative" performance in order to support the Johnsonville Way
• Grow, develop, and stretch yourself by continuing to find new and better ways to meet your commitments to yourself, your team and to JVL.

• Prepare production equipment for cleaning by locking out machinery and covering all electrical equipment with plastic
• Prepare production equipment for operation by setting up production lines to specifications.
• Use of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
• Rinse, foam, scrub, rinse and sanitize production equipment ensuring that all areas meet Johnsonville’s and USDA’s standards of acceptability
• Conduct environmental and bioluminescence swabbing
• Must be able to complete sanitation documentation paperwork accurately
• Wipe Condensation

Experience

• Sanitation experience preferred

Skills and Competencies

• Ability to work at heights that are above ground level on a ladder
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• Strong math background is required
• Must be dependable, honest and proactive
• Must be able to maintain all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Must be able to become certified in chemical usage
• Must be detail oriented
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Must be able to obtain a forklift and Will Lift license and learn the safe operation of electric pallet movers
• Willing to work in cold and wet conditions
