Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, located in Essex-Middle River, MD, is seeking a Principal for the Lower and Middle School program for the 2023-2024 school year. Our Lady of Mount Carmel School is a Pk2-12th grade school serving close to 600 students. The Principal is a member of the school leadership team, working closely with the President and Upper School to ensure a cohesive and inclusive program is achieved. The Principal works closely with their Assistant Principal and the Director of Early Learning to oversee the day-to-day operations of the school. The Principal oversees that instruction is consistent with the mission and vision of the school and assures that programs are planned, implemented, and evaluated as directed by the Department of Catholic Schools. The Principal reports to the President, who will annually review his/her performance. The Principal must be an active practicing Catholic, able to participate in the parish's sacramental life.

Job Responsibilities:

In conjunction with and reporting directly to, the School President, the Lower and Middle School Principal:

• Is the spiritual and educational leader responsible for all aspects of secondary school life, operations, and safety, in accordance with Archdiocesan policies and protocols,
• Works consistently toward improving the quality of instruction by selecting exceptional teachers and by fostering the professional growth of the instructional staff
• Provides direct supervision, evaluation, motivation and guidance to the Assistant Principals, faculty, and support staff
• Effectively communicates with parents and other constituents so that the mission, philosophy, educational goals, and other aspects of the Parish and Schools are clearly articulated
• Seeks to facilitate and coordinate spiritual, academic, and community programs in the Lower and Middle School that frequently include collaboration with the Upper School and Early Learning Center.

Qualifications:

• Practicing Roman Catholic, fully able to participate in the sacramental life of the Church
• Demonstrated commitment to the mission of Catholic education
• Master's degree in educational administration, curriculum development or similar focus, from an accredited institution
• Advanced Professional Certificate with an Administrator II endorsement
• Three or more years of core subject teaching experience in a Catholic school on the elementary or middle level
• Administrative experience in a Catholic school (i.e., Principal, Assistant Principal, etc.).
