ABOUT THE SCHOOL/DEPARTMENT


Mount View Youth Services Center Detained School provides educational services from a dedicated staff to approximately 275 students yearly in grades 6-12. Located on the Mount View Youth Services Center campus, operated by the Division of Youth Services, in unincorporated Southeastern Jefferson County, we offer students detained by Colorado courts the opportunity to continue with their personal education. Offering core academics, special education, life skills, and a seminar class, we orient project-based and project-solution coursework focused on engaging the student. We strive to provide a quality education while providing opportunities to create, develop, and improve critical mental and social skills for positive personal growth and to achieve their fullest potential.

ABOUT THE JOB


Mount View Youth Service Center is seeking a highly qualified School Secretary to join our team. The creation and revamping of the Mount View Youth Service Center is a unique opportunity for an individual that is dedicated to serving nontraditional and underserved students. This position will be housed at Mount View Youth Services Center and is a 0.5 FTE.


The ideal candidate for this position is adept at sending/receiving record requests; sending cumulative files and/or records; requesting and receiving incoming records for new students. Candidate will enroll and withdraw students; track records, and contact sending/receiving home schools. Candidate should be comfortable registering/scheduling students while keeping on track with daily records of attendance. The candidate will work closely with JeffCo AEC network administration to ensure accurate and up-to-date information is kept on all Mount View youth including updated transcripts. Staff at Mount View maintain high expectations for non-traditional students and demonstrate commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. Staff collaborate daily and take an active role in shaping the programs based on student needs. When applying for this position, candidates should consider that they will work closely with a small group of teachers and support staff to holistically and inventively meet the diverse needs of some of the most disenfranchised youth in the district.

**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT


The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
