You will provide science and technology expertise in the disciplines of macromolecule purification sciences for the development and optimization of vaccine manufacturing processes. You will perform Analytical Research and Development (R&D) activities, such as method development, method validation, method transfer etc.
You will help Pfizer develop new and improved processes used in the research and development of our drugs. Your innovative mindset will help us develop economical, efficient and safe chemical manufacture of experimental and active drug materials. Your significant experience of applying knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of the discipline will make you a critical member of the team. How You Will Achieve It
Work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-oriented, laboratory environment performing solid state experiments to support Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) and Drug Product (DP) Manufacturing Operations at the Kalamazoo MI, site.
Develop and deliver solid state analysis to support process development and/or quality investigations. Solid state analysis will include Dynamic Moisture Sorption Gravimetric analysis (DMSG), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Crystal form analysis (pXRD and microscopy), and Powder Rheometry experimentation. Maintain laboratory area and equipment in a clean, safe and functional order.
Qualifications
Must-Have
-
Applicant must have HS Diploma with six years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with four years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience.

Strong working ethic capable of working independently and within a team when needed.

Willingness to learn new analytical techniques and ability to apply key learnings from one investigation to the next.

Ability to troubleshoot technical issues, plan and carry out experiments independently, and work with complex instrumentation and software

Excellent oral and written communication skills

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
The position involves working in a laboratory/production environment, which may include standing for long periods of time and working with chemicals. The position requires the ability to perform mathematical calculations including complex data analysis.

The position may require colleagues to work off-hours, weekends and/or holidays to meet business or customer needs.
