Scientist Hematological Cancers, Oncology Bioscience - Waltham, MA

We are seeking highly motivated molecular/cellular biologist to join the Hematology Discovery group in Waltham as an in vitro lab-based Scientist. This individual will be responsible for identifying and validating new hematological targets, characterizing novel ex vivo cell models, exploring drug mechanism of action, and understanding target biology. These efforts will contribute to the identification of and build confidence in clinical drug candidates though the generation of compelling preclinical data packages. This is an opportunity to participate in a wide range of drug discovery projects and collaborate with scientists across multiple disciplines.

We are seeking a candidate with passion to apply their expertise to deliver life-changing medicines to patients. The successful applicant is expected to have good understanding of a range of procedures related to antibody identification and development. In this role, the Scientist will complete laboratory experiments, develop methods, generate, interpret, and report scientific data. They will work within an interactive team of experts to support and advance pipeline programs in various therapeutic areas.

What you'll do:

  • Grow and characterize ex vivo Haematological models
  • Design and execution of in vitro studies to support the characterization and development of candidate molecules
  • Assist in CRISPR screens and validation of hits
  • Analyse data and maintain clear experimental records
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in an efficient and organized manner
  • Organize and clearly present experimental results to project teams

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelors with 2+ years’ experience or Master’s degree with 1+ years’ relevant experience; industry experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with multiple assay platforms and technologies: proper culturing of suspension cells, flow cytometry, high throughput proliferation and apoptosis assays, CRISPR cell line generation, western blot, Q-PCR,
  • Experience with haematological cancers and in vitro assays required
