Job Title: Seasonal Application Reader

Job Summary:
The Seasonal Reader will provide critical support to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by helping review applications for prospective students. Seasonal readers must be available virtually for 10-25 hours per week, and must read at a pace that meets specific daily deadlines. This is a part-time, temporary position, and candidates will have the ability to work remotely from their primary residence. Each Seasonal Reader will utilize discretion and independent judgment with respect to reviewing prospective student test scores, transcripts and other relevant admissions criteria to render applicable admissions decisions. Seasonal Readers have the responsibility of utilizing a CRM system to select highly qualified students to support the University’s enrollment goals. Training is provided and required at the start of each cycle year. Application readers will be hired for the fall/winter of 2022 - early spring of 2023 (typically October-April).
Employees must read exclusively for Lincoln University and may not read applications for admission for any other post-secondary institution.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate in electronic file review for an assigned queue, adhering to all review deadlines.
  • Evaluates credentials for Admissions, by administering the policies and procedures for student admissions, including evaluation of transcripts, standardized test scores, or recommendations, etc. Monitors application progress and audits student records to ensure accuracy of completion of application materials.
  • Utilize enrollment software technology to review applications
  • Readers will work approximately 10-30 hours per week and will have a flexible schedule.
  • Commitment to fully attend and participate in a designated training sessions and team meetings as required.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proficiency using computers and related IT equipment, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint); Acrobat Pro, Google Docs, Web browsers (Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox)
  • Prior use of customer relationship management systems and/or the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Capacity to work independently, as well as collaboratively.
  • Excellent human relations and administrative skills, especially the ability to manage sensitive information with decorum and confidentiality.
  • Excellent time management skills and able to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to work extended hours which include nights and weekends
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Prior admission/recruiting and/or secondary education experience
  • Knowledge of Lincoln University Educational and Campus Programs.
  • Knowledge of Ellucian Recruit CRM and/or Colleague SIS.
  • Experience advocating for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds
Work Environment:
Work is primarily performed in a university campus environment or remotely and requires a flexible schedule including evening and weekend work. All work completed remotely must be performed within the United States of America.
