Currently, we are looking for one (1) Secretary.

Location: Bradenton, FL

Shift time: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12 noon

Language: Must speak fluent English, Creole, and/or Spanish (Bilingual)

Dress Code: Business casual

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Position Description:

  • Working in an office environment for the WIC program.
  • Strong working knowledge of computers and other office equipment.
  • Must be professional and dependable.
  • You will be trained on the FL-WiSE computer program to code client services.
  • You must be able to work independently and follow exact rules, regulations, and procedures without variation.
  • You will be responsible for checking in WIC participants and potential WIC participants.
  • You will be responsible for answering incoming calls, contacting clients who have missed appointments by phone or mail, and performing related work as required per the supervisor's instructions.
  • You may serve clients that speak only Spanish, Creole, or other languages.It may require the performance of interpreter duties if bilingual or implementing the Department’s limited English Proficiency Plan.
  • Perform other duties as required, including the performance of additional interpreter duties, consistent with skill level and as needed.
  • Answe a high volume of phone calls and reschedule appointments.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

  • Ability to use a computer, printer, scanner, and calculator.
  • Ability to use WIC program-related software and provide proof of successful completion of the WIC WiSE competency test.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure completion of assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Ability to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to deal effectively with a variety of people.
  • Ability to resolve conflict and provide outstanding customer service.
