Discovery Senior Living is looking for a Supervisor of Security & Transportation for our community Aston Gardens at Pelican Marsh.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Security Supervisor will be responsible for protecting the residents at the community against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry; developing and maintaining all Safety programs. The position will manage both the security and transportation departments.

Responsibilities:

• Notifies appropriate agencies in situations where their response is necessary.
• Participates in safety committee meetings. Coordinates and schedules safety and security inspections of community property to include the Clubhouse, Resident Apartment Building hallways, trash bins, parking areas, and perimeter access, pool area, and ALF.
• Confirms that forms for safety incidents and accidents have been completed appropriately. Conducts an analysis of worker’s compensation accidents to determine if they were preventable. Makes recommendations to maintain safe working environment.
• Develops the Capital budget and annual Security and Transportation budgets.
• Manages scheduling and execution of all transportation services for the residents.
• Creates and makes necessary adjustments to security and transportation schedules.
• Manages the security system daily operations.
• Maintains the restricted access report.
• Maintains a written log for security activities. Reviews previous log entries, notes, and memos. Briefs in-coming security personnel of important issues.
• Coordinates efforts on a daily basis to ensure that the grounds at each community are clear of trash and debris.
• Oversees transportation fleet. Makes sure all vehicles are in good operating condition and updates registration.
• Oversees parking lot compliance. Investigates and settles parking disputes. Maintains resident parking master plan.
• Communicates throughout the day with all drivers giving direction to each regarding the day’s schedule.
• Reviews timekeeping practices and payroll reports to ensure all hours worked are recorded and appropriately paid.
• Safely operates radio, cell phone or pager to communicate with driers or other vehicles to report disruption of service.
• Coordinates the securing and unlocking of area/buildings.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Directly supervises employees in the Security and Transportation department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.
• Enforces company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years supervisory experience.
• Four years of security and transportation experience.
• Valid Florida driver’s license. May be required to obtain CDL license.
• Experience in customer service environment, preferably in a senior living setting.
