Job Overview

This individual will serve as an integral member of a team responsible for Booking Holding’s general ledger accounting to ensure accurate and timely preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations. The ideal candidate will thrive in an entrepreneurial setting and take ownership of his/her work. A successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams across Booking Holdings and our subsidiaries. In this role, the individual will safeguard existing internal controls and will suggest improvements.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Participate in the 5-day closing of the general ledger monthly, quarterly, and annually

  • Record monthly journal entries for, but not limited to, daily cash, prepaid, fixed assets,

  • intangibles, intercompany transactions, accruals, leases, and debt transactions of the parent corporation.

  • Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly; resolve any reconciling items on a timely basis.

  • Reconcile ERP to consolidation tool on a monthly basis, and maintain roll-forwards within the consolidation tool.

  • Prepare monthly variance explanations for the balance sheet.

  • Enhance process documentation

  • Ensure internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks.

  • Address requests from risk and controls, internal audit, external audit, and other internal stakeholders as needed.

  • Provide support for the interim and year-end audits, including statutory reporting

  • Prepare footnotes & financial statement tie-outs

  • Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables.

  • Assist with ad hoc projects as they arise (e.g., automation, ERP implementation, etc.).

  • Prepare government survey filings (domestic & international)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

  • CPA preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years in industry and/or public accounting or a similar work environment

  • Experience with Oracle, Blackline, SAP, and OneStream is a plus

  • Excel proficiency required

  • Detail-oriented

  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment

  • Accountable and Trustworthy. Unquestionable integrity and ethics

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus.

The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC metro area is $102,600-$125,400.
