Senior Accountant - Billerica Job at Baker Commodities, Inc.
Job Purpose: The Senior Accountant is responsible for verification of financial records and transactions, reconciliation of account balances and bank statements, maintenance of the general ledger and the production of monthly financial reports. The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring that the financial reporting is prepared accurately and in a timely manner.
- Analyze internal financial reports and transactions related to business operations
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries
- Review monthly financial statements and post adjusting entries as needed
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and annual budgets
- Analyze account balances for variances
- Analyze accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
- Prepare multiple spreadsheets and reports necessary for the month end close
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank statements
- Assist in the compilation of information relating to the year end financial audit and other periodic examinations
- Print monthly invoices and checks
- Research and resolve outstanding checks
- Prepare sales tax and highway use tax returns
- Interact with others in a professional and ethical manner
- Follow department and company procedures
- Keep up regular attendance and punctuality; regular attendance and punctuality are essential for the smooth operation of this company
- Other duties as assigned
