The Senior Manager of Content Security for Film & TV Production will be responsible for management of production-related information security in collaboration with production executives across various Paramount Global divisions (e. g., Paramount Pictures, CBS Studios, Showtime, Paramount+, Paramount Network, MTV Entertainment, Nickelodeon, BET, Network 10 Australia, etc.). The position requires an experienced security professional with exceptional business acumen and technical knowledge and an ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
This Los Angeles-based role will report to the Director of Content Security. The position is responsible for partnering in the development and execution of information security strategies, implementing technical solutions, and contributing as a security subject matter team member for content producing Paramount Global divisions.
Overview and Responsibilities:
Partner in production content security risk assessment process for all Paramount business units (Paramount, CBS, MTV, Showtime, Nickelodeon, Paramount+, VH-1, BET, etc.), including vendor, app, and cloud platforms.
Work with production teams to identify risks and implement mitigating security controls, including “Remote best practice implementations”.
Manage and perform on-site security risk assessments of Paramount productions ensuring compliance with internally developed policies.
Provide direction to business units on the creation of secure content workflows during development, production through post-production, VFX, Editorial and Production office, as well as other departments. Primary focus will be on “top tier” high-security titles, also provide appropriate and scalable content security guidance across Paramount ecosystem.
Responsible for the security review for non-standard production, post-production, publicity, marketing, and distribution workflows.
Guide implementation of security in the media supply chain, and high-profile applications where pre-air content and related artifacts reside.
Responsible for maintenance of security standards and best practices and participate in the creation of training materials aimed at raising awareness of Paramount’s Content Security policies.
Lead content security assessments of vendors and other partners. Reviewing compliance around physical security, digital security, management systems, and related processes.
Evaluating a myriad of content deployment scenarios (e.g., on-premises, cloud, hybrid), services, models, and technology to ensure they are secure and compliant across Paramount.
Assess and coordinate information security initiatives with various divisional departments impacting Paramount productions: Business Affairs, Content Protection, Legal, Publicity, Marketing etc.
Help investigate content leaks and identify root cause and remediation steps.
Represent Paramount Content Security on / at industry related events as needed.
Remain current on industry standards, security risks, threats, and technology trends and incorporate information into processes, procedures, and audit preparedness activities.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed, to support productions and events. Travel to high visibility productions and vendors as needed to ensure workflows are secure.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
3+ years of relevant experience preferred, with proven knowledge of production and post-production workflow, the media supply chain, security architecture design and hardening, network security, cloud security, remote collaborations, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence/analysis.
One or more of CCSP, CISSP, CISA, certifications or equivalent knowledge considered.
Significant understanding of widely accepted content security best practices, including media industry control frameworks such as those created by the MPA, Trusted Partner Network (TPN), Cloud Security Alliance, CDSA, Independent Security Evaluators, MovieLabs, AWS (Amazon Web Services), Azure, and Google Cloud.
Understanding of DRM, Forensic Watermarking, Access Control, MFA, Limiting Concurrent Streams, Geo-Blocking, Whitelisting, Pen Testing, Code Review, etc.
Familiarity with Screener Platforms, Air-Gapped Production Networks, etc.
Knowledge of the secure use of common software products (e.g., Aspera, PIX, CLEAR, Scenechronize, Shotgun, Avid, Adobe, etc.) and cloud-based technologies.
Understand implementations of remote collaboration technologies such as Sohonet ClearView, Evercast, PacPost Live, Writer’s Room Pro, Parsec, Jump Desktop, Miro, etc.
Additional Qualifications:
An ability to learn about and adapt to the unique needs of each content producing business unit to ensure content is secure from creation through distribution.
Troubleshoot technological obstacles, find secure solutions that do not burden productions with operational inefficiencies, unnecessary costs, or bureaucratic approvals.
Able to successfully prioritize and manage to completion multiple complex tasks and deliverables and demonstrate the highest degree of integrity and accountability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), GSuite (Docs, Sheets, etc.), AirTables, etc.
Superb communication skills in all written, oral, and presentation capabilities, with an ability toconvey complex concepts to all levels of personnel (staff to executive).
