Anelva tools have been delivering cutting-edge performance in thin films deposition (PVD) and enabling our customers to manufacture semiconductor devices, the most advanced hard disks and volatile and nonvolatile memory products. We have an exciting opportunity based in Austin, TX to service regional customer tools by troubleshooting and repairing tool issues as well as participating in preventive maintenance, and minor tool upgrades/modifications.
The Engineering Technician III performs technical support for PVD equipment and related robotics. The individual must understand vacuum technology, general practices, and procedures within the semiconductor field and be able to apply such skills fluently to perform field service duties at customer’s clean room. In rare occasions, overtime may be required.
This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s).
Responsibilities:
- Responsible to monitor, inspect, setup, calibrate, maintain and repair customer’s semiconductor process equipment in the field to prevent equipment down time.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software related issues and implement solutions.
- Troubleshoot and replace DC and RF power supplies.
- Collect data for software related issues; communicate with Japan for solutions to implement.
- Accurately document maintenance activity, provide timely field service and periodic reports.
- Install equipment software and maintain a record of software revision history.
- Participate in the installation of equipment at customers' sites, as needed
- Effectively communicate with customers.
- Escalate serious or complicated repair problems to senior level team members.
- Follow Clientn and customer’s safety rules based on the training provided.
Qualifications:

- Associates degree or equivalent experience required, bachelor's preferred. 4-5 years of related experience, previous field service experience is preferred.
- Bilingual skills helpful (Japanese & English)
- Electro-mechanical skills with preferred specialty in Vacuum equipment repair
- Multi chamber cluster systems and robotics experience is highly preferred.
- Ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings for troubleshooting.
- Experience with PLC and other software applications is a plus.
- Ability to work independently following 3-6 months of hands-on training in Korea and Japan
- Must have analytical skills for problem analysis and quick resolution.
- Decide on problem solving road map and follow methodical means to resolution.
- Decide and recommend spare and consumable parts for PM’s and repairs
- Requires ability to lift approx. 50 lbs
- Requires local travel (valid driver's license and acceptable driving record necessary). Additionally, because this position requires driving for company business as an essential function of the job, must remain in compliance with company safety guidelines and policies.
- Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
- Substantial amount of standing, walking, typing, grasping; occasionally kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs or ladder.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity with or without corrective lenses for parts inspection and assembly, machine operation, and use of measurement devices.
- Work in cleanrooms; wear clean room suit, facemask, gloves, and safety glasses.
- The work environment may include proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working in enclosed spaces, close quarters, narrow aisles, and possible exposure to chemicals, ultraviolet light and lasers within clean room or service core environment.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
