Tropical Shipping in West Palm Beach, Florida is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Analyst!

This role is responsible for maximizing ERP and sub systems with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) by coordinating the Accounting and IT efforts related to the PeopleSoft Financial System. Understands GAAP to ensure accuracy of system utilization and recording of all transactions within the books and records. Develops, enhances, maintains and supports the PeopleSoft Financial System including coding/modifying SQR interfaces and report using Application Designer, PeopleTools, SQR Report Writer, BI Publisher, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface, Application Messaging, PS Query, SQL Server and other development tools. Identifies and documents requirements, clarifies objectives, coordinates project related activities, and develops standards and procedures. Identifies area requiring technical improvements and develops proposals to address them.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assists in developing and modifying interfaces, SQR, Crystal Reports and BI Publisher for PeopleSoft Financial applications using Application Designer, SQR Writer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, Component Interface and Application Messaging, PS Query, SQL and other tools.
• Develops complex programs, systems and associated reports and interface files required to meet user needs.
• Reviews technical specifications and test plans based on functional requirements. Assists Business Analysts in creating functional tests or upgrade plans.
• Recommends efficient design architecture for new applications and modifications, taking product upgrade cycles and SDLC factors into account.
• Works with project team on review, analysis, design, development, coding, testing, debugging, installation, documentation, enhancement, maintenance, and support of application systems.
• Provides consultation to users and other technical staff. Analyzes and researches PeopleSoft application problems and works with users to create and test solutions.
• Ensures established Systems Development Life Cycle, policies, procedures, and guidelines are followed.
• Creates financial models across various departments.
• Analyzes large amounts of data and translates information to managers.
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or in a related field

Experience Requirements:

• Three to five years experience in PeopleSoft Financials system development, design techniques and de-bugging/testing techniques. Experience working with PeopleCode, PeopleTools, and PUM. Working knowledge of GAAP, relational databases, client-server concepts, web-based systems development and project definition.

• Occasional travel required to domestic & international locations
• Valid U.S. Driver's license and passport
• Ability to travel in various modes of transportation (e.g. automobile, airplane, train etc..) Occasionally exposed to outside elements during the course of traveling.
• Office Environment - Manual dexterity to perform repetitive motion tasks on computer. Ability to bend or stoop to retrieve lower shelf files. Ability to reach overhead to retrieve upper shelf files. ability to sit 1/3 - 2/3 of day.
