JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Immigration Attorney will dedicate themselves to practicing immigration law and providing exceptional customer service through utilizing best practices and methods as directed by the Firm. The Sr. Immigration Attorney will be responsible for supervising and managing a team of Associate Immigration Attorneys to ensure goals are achieved.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Handle a caseload consisting of immigration assessments, USCIS filings, and EOIR matters.
• The proportion and number of cases are administered at the direction of the Legal Services Director based on complexity of case, experience level, and tenure of the Attorney.

• Meet filing deadlines for USCIS cases as directed by the Firm. The deadlines are as follows:
• All U-Visa petitions must be filed no later than 30 days prior to the U-Cert expiration date
• All other USCIS petitions should be filed within 60 days of case assignment absent extenuating circumstances.

• Be able and available to perform the duties of an associate immigration attorney as necessary.
• Supervise and manage a team of immigration attorneys within the Legal Department.
• Delegate cases and tasks based on experience and tenure of supervised immigration attorneys.
• In conjunction with the Director of Legal Services, develop strategies and methods of optimizing processes within the Immigration division.
• Responsible for ensuring cases within Immigration are closed as swiftly as they are able.
• Routinely audit performance and metric of supervised attorneys to ensure consistent quality of work.
• Be available to provide feedback, recommendations, or assistance on work-related inquiries for supervised attorneys.
• Retain consistent communication with staff to ensure goals are met.
• Work with the Director of Legal Services in communicating department-level changes to staff.
• Provide feedback to the Director of Legal Services on current methods and tools used to perform job tasks, as well as recommendations for efficiency.
• With the conclusion of any necessary trainings, be able to perform the above tasks with minimal to no supervision
• May be required to participate in photo/marketing shoots as needed.
• Be able to perform the above tasks with little to no supervision
• Other duties as necessary

SUPERVISORY DUTIES

• This position is heavily supervisory. The Sr. Immigration Attorney will be expected to spend at least 50% of their time performing the supervisory duties listed above. Time spent not directly working with staff is expected to be spent performing the duties of an Associate Immigration Attorney working on the most complex cases. In addition to traditional metrics, performance will be evaluated based on ability to properly delegate, communicate, train, and manage staff.

PROFESSIONAL AND ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS

• 5+ years of experience practicing Immigration law
• Currently licensed to practice law in the state of California
• 1+ years of supervisory experience
• Strong customer service skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
