Senior Legal Counsel Job at Autoneum Management AG
- Drafting, negotiating, reviewing, and analyzing a broad variety of contracts for BG North America functions such as Purchasing, Sales, Finance, Operations, and HR (including real property-related documents such as leases)
- Participating in international project teams as their business-minded legal advisor
- Supporting HR and Finance with employee benefits matters (including retirement and benefits plan administration)
- Serve a regional compliance officer, including investigating compliance matters as well as planning and providing legal and compliance trainings in close cooperation with corporate headquarters
- Corporate governance tasks for US, Mexican, and Canadian entities (including drafting of minutes)
- Handling legal disputes and litigation, including troubled supplier situations and customer disputes
- Supporting HR with employment and labor matters (including CBA negotiations, arbitrations, and grievances)
- Serve as North American resource for risk management (insurance) matters
- Establishing and improving legal processes and designing templates and policies
- Establishing a trust-related working relationship with the stakeholders across BG North America
- Provide training to internal clients on relevant legal issues
- Ensure regional variations and requirements are addressed appropriately
- Providing legal advice (orally or written)
Your qualifications
- Degree from an accredited law school of recognized standing
- Licensed to practice law in Michigan
- At least 10 years of commercial contracts experience (at least 15 years would be an advantage)
- Working language: English (additional languages would be an advantage such as Spanish)
- Experience representing suppliers in the automotive industry is required
- Law firm experience is required, preferably as a corporate generalist with a mid-size or large law firm
- In-House Counsel experience with multinational corporations is required, ideally in the automotive sector
- Experience supporting activities in Mexico would be an advantage
