Job Summary

This job exists to ensure smooth, efficient and effective bulk operations for North America Solids – SABIC Logistic Sites in North America, including management of flexi and transportation operations. The position is under the AMR Solids Supply Chain Management structure.

How You Can Be the Impact

• Ensure smooth, efficient and effective Operation of Bulk Logistics for NAMR output.
• Execution & oversight of Bulk Logistics operation with other Supply Chain Management areas (logistics mode analysts, planning and customer service teams)
• Develop 3PL & LSP operational plans and strategies, and use metrics and KPIs to drive performance (including Fleet Turnover and Dwell)
• Monitor and ensure proper use of Bulk Logistics Fleet utilization managing dwell, inbound and outbound flows
• Management of transload sites, warehouse and repack operations including inventory reconciliation (cycle and physical counts)
• Analyze “Deliver to First Promise” data to unfold areas of opportunity identifying and isolating issues.
• Utilize specific knowledge of the logistics trends and capabilities to identify areas for cost reductions and saving opportunities
• Identify and execute projects to help deliver overall Bulk Logistics variable and fixed cost productivity targets
• Understand and report out on Supply Chain cost variances and drivers
• Analyze and scope projects for proper Bulk Operation & cost savings and viability
• Engage 3PL & LSP’s to identify, prevent and fix problems (including Interface Issues)
• Responsible to respond & manage QN’s related to Bulk Logistics & monitor KPI
• Root-cause investigation of QN’s for Bulk Logistics Operations including inventory deviations, on-time-delivery or order fulfillment related
• High process orientation and analytical approach to problem solving
• Ability to timely and effectively communicate
• Initiative and Leadership
• Effective execution of invoice auditing and approval of payment processes (analyze spend and create proper accruals for monthly report)
• Create purchase requisition, work with Procurement to link with contracts, and approve service requests for payments
• Financial acumen – comfort level developing budgets and identifying variance drivers with ability to course correct.

What Matters to SABIC

• BS / BA Degree; Logistics, Engineering, Business Administration, or similar Degree, required. MBA or business related, desired.
• 6 to 9 years Logistics, Supply Chain Operations experience required.
• Logistics experience with emphasis on Rail, Bulk Truck, repack or warehouse operations.
• Experience working with ERP (SAP preferred) for order fulfillment or logistics execution.
• Prior experience working with 3rd party logistics providers.
• Previous experience developing and implementing or changing logistics networks desired.
• APICS certifications, desired.
• Six Sigma training and certification, desired.
