Senior Marketing Manager - National Events and Promotions Job at Natural Grocers
The Job in a Nutshell:
This position is responsible for managing company-wide promotional programs and our monthly limited time price promotions on designated items both of which are meant to increase sales and traffic to the stores.
Responsibilities:Main Ingredients:
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to create traffic and sales driving national events and promotions.
- Create event schedules and call to actions based on meetings. Keeping track of the details and organizing them in an excel sheet to be followed. What is the event, what makes up the event and what collateral will be sent out for this specific event.
- Manage accurate, on-time and cost-effective system-wide implementation of national events and promotions
- Send out company-wide communications regarding national promotions
- Ensure accuracy of national events and price promotions through direct mail, social advertisements, Internet advertisements, in-store displays and in-store flyers
- Develop and launch seasonal discounts, samples, gifts, rebates, coupons, sweepstakes, and contests
- Recommend length and timing of promotions
- Prepare cost estimates for promotions, track and measure promotion effectiveness and optimize if needed.
- Review, and revise copy for event promotions for approval by the Managing Director of Marketing and/or the VP Marketing
- Coordinate across different departments (purchasing, marketing, finance, accounting, executive team, etc) to ensure best work-flow for events and promotions projects.
- Create inMotion requests for creative assests for events. Keep track of all deadlines and make sure everyone is on track to hit them.
- Proofs Inmotion collateral material to create error free final product and access any problems.
- Work closely with the Purchasing department to help create both scheduled and unique on-shelf price promotions
- May indirectly or directly manage Crew
- Travels, as needed, to grand opening events to manage the events (travel up to 30% of the time).
- Have strong project management and communication skills
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department
- Oversees the daily workflow of national events & promotions
- Oversees the daily workflow of new store grand opening marketing and events
- Supervision of Crew
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy

Recipe for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related field required, Master’s degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years marketing or health-related field experience, or equivalent education experience, is required
- Retail industry experience required with grocery experience preferred
- Prior experience working on highly-recognized, industry-leading brands a plus
- Prior director-level management experience within within Marketing or a related field preferred
- Self-starter with strong project management skills
- Excellent organization and prioritization skills; ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects
- Ability to express confident point of view in cross-functional meetings
- Proven experience successfully collaborating with all levels of internal and external partners
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills required
- Strong quantitative skills required
- Team work and creativity a must
