We are looking for a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer located in Crane, IN.

Active DoD Secret security clearance or eligibility to achieve interim Secret.

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity that will provide mechanical engineering support to various systems in the Radar Technologies Division.

Position Description:

• Provide mechanical/electrical engineering support to ensure procedural documents are accurate and correct
• Provide mechanical/electrical engineering support for AN/SPS-67 and AN/SPS-73 Radars systems and associated equipment
• Mechanical/Electrical engineering support shall include:
  • Develop procedures with initial guidance and in-process review from Government subject matter experts (SME)
  • Implement Government SME comments as part of this support tasking.
  • Review performance specification/performance requirements to identify test parameters necessary to establish radar subsystems test capability
  • Design multi-functional test stations capable of energizing/testing Radar subcomponent performance parameters
  • Analyze test data
  • Update performance requirements as necessary to meet ever-changing needs

Required Qualifications and Skills:

• Ten years of relevant work experience
• Professional experience in the mechanical design of shipboard radar systems
• Demonstrate expertise in corrosion prevention in marine environments, in DC and AC motor design and gear assemblies, in thermal modeling, and in 3D modeling for assessment of mechanical stresses (Vibration, Loading, Thermal, etc.)

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

• Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited university.

Travel Requirements:

• Telework of up to 20% once past the probationary period.
