The Miami Township Community Development Department is seeking an organized, self-motivated, and creative individual to join our growing community. The position is a full-time, exempt, at will appointment, which will serve under the direction of the Director of Community Development.

The position will focus on review and management of long-term planning functions within the Community Development Department. This position requires a moderate to high complexity of work and some supervisory responsibilities. This position requires an ability to professionally communicate effectively with the public in verbal and written form on a regular basis. Experience reviewing development and construction plans and presenting zoning cases in public hearings is desired.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Planning or similar discipline, or the equivalent combination of experience and training of a four (4) year degree, plus a minimum of four (4) years of full-time experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. AICP certification preferred, or ability to become certified within one year.

The salary range for the position starts at $70,000 and extends to $84,000 annually and includes a generous benefits package including sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave, and paid holidays. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license. Typical work schedule is 40 hours per week, generally 8 AM to 4:30 PM (some night and weekend hours required on a monthly basis), however flexible scheduling is available.
