FULL-TIME POSITION WITH BENEFITS
Departmental Context:
The Senior Services department provides services through the following programs: Nutrition, Foster Grandparent, Homemaker, Options and Choices.
Purpose
The Senior Services Administrative Assistant is clerical and limited administrative work assisting with various aspects of several programs addressing the needs of the elderly population for the agency including the Nutrition, Homemaker/Options and Foster Grandparent programs. Job performance is evaluated by the Senior Services Director through review of the assistance provided to each program, accuracy of completed work assignments, and interpersonal and organizational capabilities. Job duties are also subject to state and independent program audits.
Position Responsibilities:
· Assists with maintaining accurate and comprehensive records for auditing and monitoring purposes as well as with various program audits as required
· Assisting with the preparation and submission of monthly and annual reports to local and state agencies
· Participates and assists with coordinating training activities required for program staff.
· Assisting with routine program correspondence as necessary
· Copies and distributes nutritional educational information and menus to nutrition sites on a monthly basis
· Assists with data entry activities
· Performs related duties as requested
Technical skills and Experience required
Qualifications, technical skills, experience, and knowledge required for this position include:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
· Dedicated attention to detail
· Considerable knowledge of social service programs intended to assist the elderly population (specifically Nutrition, Homemaker/Options and Foster Grandparents)
· Ability to consistently adhere to operational policies and procedures and insure compliance with all governing regulations
· Ability to assist program staff with administrative functions and achieve an optimal level of service to clients
· Ability to interact in a professional and effective manner with co-workers, clients, service providers and the public
· Ability to maintain all program related records and related documentation in an organized and accessible manner
· Knowledge of computer software programs including word processing and spreadsheet applications, and database management applications
