Leggett & Platt is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our development team at the IDEA Center in Lenexa, Kansas (hybrid option available) ) to help support our Automotive, Furniture, Elite Comfort Solutions, and Adjustable Beds businesses. What you will be doing as Senior Software Engineer – Backend

• Work closely with other frontend and backend developers to build web-based applications.
• Develop server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend.
• Collaborate with project management team and stakeholders to define objectives.
• Discuss design systems and technical design patterns.
• Proactively engage in regular project team meetings including Daily scrum, Sprint planning, Backlog grooming, Sprint demos, and PI planning.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field, or combination of education, experience, and training.
• Excellent technical skills and ability to understand complex production systems.
• 5+ years of experience in designing systems in Node.js or .NET Core, C#.
• 3+ years of experience in designing and implementing PostGres, SQL Server databases.
• Write efficient SQL queries, database normalization.
• Deep experience in distributed microservices, and full stack systems.
• Experience in (ETL) using SSIS, Apache NIFI.
• Understand RESTful API concepts and development.
• Familiarity with git and other technical collaboration tools.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills (communication, teamwork, dependability)

Things we consider a plus:

• Experience with software development methodologies such as TDD and BDD.
• Experience with Azure DevOps.
• Container deployment and container orchestration solutions.
• Experience with frontend web development, preferably React, Vue
