Who you are:
As the Senior Systems Engineer for Johns Hopkins HealthCare, you are the person that can be counted on to independently oversee an IT project throughout the entire lifecycle with minimal oversight. You oversee the systems that process and move data. You provide the experience and leadership for software installation projects from planning and design to implementation of custom solutions for various departmental and enterprise-wide computing systems.
What you'll do:
Apply system analysis techniques and procedures to translate business requirements into functional/technical specifications and designs.
Using functional specifications and designs, you will produce all or part of the deliverables or oversees System designs
Develop recommendations for products and services that will meet the technical requirements.
Install and maintain specialized areas of operating systems and related software including trouble-shooting and supporting the system software environment and assisting with problem resolution with respect to the use of system software.
Create, review, and implement automated facilities that result in cost reduction, operating efficiency, and improved performance which leads to increased user satisfaction.
Dissemination of the user needs and the solution to the rest of the technical team
As this will is imperative to a successful project completion
What you'll bring:
6+ years' experience as a systems engineer
Ability to independently oversee an IT project throughout the entire lifecycle with minimal oversight
Experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365 is highly preferred
Understanding of IT security lifecycle - as you do the hands-on work to implement identified fixes by the security team
MS Active Directory experience is required
Red Hat experience is a plus
Understanding that the scope of work is at an enterprise-wide level with typical projects impacting the broader customer base of Johns Hopkins and its most mission critical systems.
Bachelor's degree (or related work experience)
