Construction Transportation Technician II

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Construction Transportation Technician II to support NCDOT and municipal construction projects. The position will be based in the Raleigh, NC area.

• Performs a variety of tasks in support of highway and bridge construction activities.
• Activities may include inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the inspections and/or oversight of building, repair, or maintenance of a structure, roadway, multi-use path, greenway, sidewalk, etc.
• Monitor and track day to day activities on multiple construction sites.
• Ability to generate and provide daily and weekly reports in a timely fashion effectively communicating on site activities.
• Ability to perform basic computations, calculations, and conversions.
• Adheres to client requirements for project administration, AECOM methods, AECOM Safety requirements, and AECOM Quality requirements.
• Monitors subcontractor personnel to ensure adherence with project plans and promotes quality control of all installations.
• Enforces AECOM's policies, procedures and related work rules as established by Project Management Team.
• Relies on general to moderately complex knowledge of procedures, company policies, and business practices to plan and accomplish goals.

Additional Comments:

• Weekend and night work may be required
• Overnight travels may be required (<5%)

Minimum Requirements:

• 
  High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years of experience and/or education
• Valid drivers license is required

Preferred Qualifications:

• A.A.S. degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Surveying Technology or equivalent and 2 years of transportation construction, CEI or other civil inspection experience
• Valid Driver's license, with good driving record.
• Experience supporting NCDOT and municipal projects
• 4 years of transportation construction, CEI or other civil inspection experience
