The Glass Knife is one of Central Florida’s most award-winning and popular culinary destinations.

Our full-time SERVER/CASHIER roles are an integral part our front-of-house team, where the first priority is attention to detail. This is a base + tipped role in which full-time team members could expect an average of $20-$25+ per hour.

In this role, candidates must be efficient, attentive and proactive. Creating an exceptional Guest experience is paramount. The ideal candidate will have a friendly, outgoing disposition and will have previous experience working in a high-volume environment. This position is for someone who is outgoing, patient and who is skilled in (and enjoys) interacting with people.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet every Guest proactively and with enthusiasm; A pleasant and helpful demeanor is a must at all times in this customer-facing role.
  • Familiarize Guests with the menu, proactively making suggestions and preparation details when requested.
  • Provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.
  • Receive payment by credit cards, vouchers, or other electronic forms.
  • Issue receipts, refunds or credits due to customers.
  • Resolve customer concerns.
  • Convey a professional demeanor, appearance and communication skills in accordance with restaurant guidelines
  • Answer customers' questions, and provide information on menu, procedures or policies.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members regarding food and beverage orders and customer questions and concerns.
  • Create a safe and pleasant dining area for customers; Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
  • Remain alert and maintain positive attitude at all times; Proactively seek tasks that assist Management team.
  • Take customer orders and relay them accurately to relevant team members.
  • Serve food and beverage offerings; Check on guests proactively & regularly.
  • Maintain all table settings; Removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils; refilling beverages, etc.
  • Clear, properly clean and set tables efficiently between turns.
  • Proactively anticipate Guests' needs in order to facilitate an enjoyable dining experience.
  • Perform cleaning and preparatory tasks as needed or directed by a Team Lead.

Qualifications & Required Experience

  • Minimum 1 year previous food & beverage experience is required.
  • Excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills are required.
  • Ability to read safety procedures and operating guidelines & instructions in English
  • Ability to walk and stand for long durations
  • Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to work scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays

Job Type: Full-time
