Job Description:

The Program Office for the RSES Contract is seeking to hire multiple account managers to manage and maintain customer relationships with customers and counterparts at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC).
AMA, Inc., is the prime contractor for the Research, Science, and Engineering Services (RSES) Contract, beginning on June 1, 2023.

Under the RSES contract, AMA supports the full range of technology readiness levels from fundamental research through flight rated hardware design and development for customers at NASA LaRC. Our team supports leading-edge research and programs supporting NASA’s missions including the infusion of novel, fundamental methods, and concepts in research.

This position is located in Hampton, VA, at NASA LaRC and will allow situational and/or routine telework. Not eligible for full-time remote work.

This role requires a high level of business acumen, emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and organization to develop and maintain successful relationships with a high number of diverse customers with unique needs. Job duties include:

  • Understand customer vision, goals, and short term and long-term needs and manage matrixed technical leads and project managers working alongside customer teams to ensure delivery of products and services. This requires the ability to interface face-to-face, through virtual meetings, phone calls, instant message (via Teams) and email.
  • Prepare technical plans and workforce plans based on requirements and monitor performance, understand sources of variances.
  • Manage customer input and feedback for all projects and interface with customer points of contact including Technical Points of Contact, Technical Monitors, Branch Heads, Contraction Officer’s Representatives.
  • Establish and build strong working relationships with business leaders at all levels.
  • Manage and coach technical leads and project managers.
  • Strive to maximize the award fee objective and performance across assigned task requirements.
  • Participate in internal management reviews, provide monthly financial variance reporting, and have ultimate accountability.
  • Manage financial, programmatic, and technical issues related to NASA TDN/tasks.
  • Maintain a regular standing technical meeting with assigned work leads.
  • Manage the relations between the NASA requirements and all awarded subcontractors, to include work and financial performance.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s (or equivalent) with minimum 10 years’ relevant experience or Master’s degree with minimum 8 years’ relevant experience;
  • Leadership and management experience working with technical and non-technical counterparts;
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office 365 tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams;
  • Demonstrated experience creating plans, managing budgets, and monitoring financial performance;
  • Self-organized and high emotional intelligence;
  • Experienced decision maker, leader, and manager with experience in a fast-paced environment;
  • Motivation to identify risks and to identify multiple solutions to unique customer needs where requirements may be ambiguous;
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Science or Engineering discipline with minimum 10 years’ relevant experience or Master’s degree with minimum of 8 years’ relevant experience;
  • Advanced education or training in project management, business, leadership, or general management, such as PMP, MBA, or Engineering Management;
  • Established relationships with NASA customers across LaRC;
  • Experience leading teams within a service contracting environment;
  • Experience managing in a Government contracting environment;
  • Knowledge and experience using a task management system.

US Citizenship is required due to security clearance requirements.
