HEAVY EQUIPMENT SERVICE TECHNICIAN

Contractors Sales Co., Inc, headquartered in Albany, NY is looking for a Service Technician who is capable of being a lead shop service technician or entry level field service technician at our Middletown, NY location. The ideal candidate must be skilled in diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, and have the ability to analyze and resolve problems independently and efficiently in a safe, timely, and professional manner. Essential duties include, but are not limited to, identifying problems and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps; removing, disassembling, assembling, and installing components and parts; cleaning, repairing, reconditioning, and maintaining rental fleet and customer equipment and components; documenting and reporting work performed to service management; and performing related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• 5 years' experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance, or a diploma from a heavy equipment repair trade school
• Ability to lift more than 50 pounds
• Strong math skills
• Ability to work with laptop diagnostic tools and use other computer programs such as Excel
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Ability to troubleshoot complex after treatment exhaust systems
• Prior experience in rebuilding diesel engines, transmissions and hydraulic pumps
• Qualified candidates must also be a team player able to work with, and learn from, others
• Great communication and customer relation skills
• Attention to detail and dedicated to performing at your best every day
• Self-motivated and requires minimal supervision
• This position may require some travel
• A pre-employment drug screen is required
