Title: Shelter Aide

Location: Crossroads

Supervises: N/A

Reports To: Program Supervisor

Schedule: 40 hours

Status: FT

Pay: $20/hr

Function: The Shelter Aide is responsible for the safety and security of the clients and volunteers who are in our facility. Treating all those receiving shelter with dignity and understanding, the Shelter Aide implements the rules of the shelter program fairly and equitably. Any special or unusual concern is to be brought to the immediate attention of the supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Understand and be knowledgeable of facility rules

2. Maintain ongoing professional relationship with all interpersonal contacts

3. Mediate problems with shelter population

4. Provide information and referral to social service programs

5. Perform record keeping duties

6. Attend all staff meetings

7. Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent orcontinuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to lift to 25 pounds. Ability to access and produce information from the computer. Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. A request to modify or adjust these requirements may be made to your supervisor and HR.
