- Organize, communicate, and delegate responsibilities and priorities to ensure the successful operation of the department.
- Provide regular and timely feedback that recognizes performance, motivates employees and promotes self-development.
- Communicate with and coach employees on assignments, providing technical expertise as needed.
- Select, train, and develop employees consistent with department/division goals.
- Communicate effectively and actively seek and provide feedback.
- Schedule all repairs and assign priorities, i.e., Technicians, jobs, etc. for which the shop(s) or individual(s) is accountable. Ensure that all repair tasks are performed in a safe and logical manner. Keep abreast of all work in progress.
- Assist Technicians in troubleshooting when requested or required.
- Supervise the inspection and testing of components/machine after repair completion for quality in workmanship and proper operation.
- Effectively communicate with Service Manager on status of work in assigned area.
- Assist Service Administration in managing work in process to minimize expense and maximize cash flow.
- Coordinate with other Shop Supervisors in scheduling repairs and assigning priorities to ensure smooth work flow in shops.
- Review and approve employee time and all work order documentation.
- Effective participation in Cashman Equipment’s Safety program.

- Inspect equipment and tooling assigned to the area on a regular basis. Assist support staff with effective control of tooling, literature, etc.
- Control all costs and evaluate all purchases to ensure receiving the best value for funds spent.
- Utilize flat-rating system for the majority of all work quoted in Service Department.
- Assure that warrantable repairs are performed in compliance with warranty guidelines.
- Provide a challenging environment that encourages self-development.
- Working knowledge of CAT equipment and components through Technician experience, technical training or other work experience.
- Proficient computer technology skills, including ability to utilize company software.
- Knowledge of basic mathematical computations and understanding of financial reports.
- Achieve customer satisfaction through striving for 0% rework.
- Actively participates with and supports the department team.
- Achieves monthly and quarterly stated department goals of customer satisfaction, market dominance, and profitability by providing leadership, direction, and fostering teamwork.
- Achieves a customer focus by providing high quality, cost effective service.
- Provides department staff continuous and timely support through feedback, problem-solving and development opportunities.
- Achieve short-term and long-term department budget goals.
- Ensures adherence to company policies, procedures, practices.
- High School diploma, GED or trade school equivalent. Some college preferred or five (5) years related supervisory experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a Technician in service or a related field with progressive responsibilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand materials commonly used in the product service and maintenance function (service and parts manual, technical bulletins, and other related articles).
- Professional appearance and demeanor consistent with position and responsibilities.
- Self-motivated and detail oriented; able to work with minimum supervision.
- Stand/walk 1-4 hours in a day. Sit 5-6 hours in a day.
- Occasionally/frequently lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally bend, squat, and climb; including ability to ascend and descend ladders.
- Must use hands for repetitive and simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
- Must use feet for repetitive movement when operating equipment controls.
- Must have agility and balance to safely climb on all machines.

- Valid Nevada Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
