Position Summary:

Primary responsibilities include coordination of all outgoing shipments and subsequent billing, including, but not limited to:

  • Generate and distribute pick tickets on a daily basis.
  • Record pick ticket information once complete from warehouse staff.
  • Obtain freight rates as needed, using MESCA for LTL and Volume Rates, and Brokers for Truckload Quantities.
  • Schedule trucks for outgoing shipments on a daily basis.
  • Preparation and distribution of Shipping and Billing paperwork.
  • Prepare and submit shipping report to corporate office.
  • Track shipments as requested and or needed.
  • Periodic review and analysis of freight spend.
  • Wear many hats and may be asked to assist with other areas in the shop/office/warehouse.

  • Communicate with customers and vendors / suppliers via phone and email.
  • Competent or posses the ability to be trained in company software, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, Account-mate, etc.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

Trade school or Apprenticeship desirable

Experience: 3-5 Years industry related experience, in both freight and construction products industry is preferred.

Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, and Account-Mate.

Computer Skills: Ability to be trained to learn basic computer skills, as well as to become proficient in company specific software.

Other Requirements: Fluent in English.
