Shipping Operator

Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Shipping Operator to be based out of Wayne, MI. Position is available on 1ST Shift (M-F, 7:00AM-3:30PM). Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this person will be responsible for performing the work of stock person, driving industrial equipment, and picking/packing customer orders.

What you’ll do:

Additional Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Accurately and efficiently pick orders from Warehouse stock locations utilizing RF Smart scanning equipment following pick list instructions
• Responsible for performing all necessary JDE and RF Smart transactions
• Consolidate product within Warehouse rack locations
• Responsible for conducting cycle counts of product
• Safely and accurately prepare product for shipment
• Ensure quality standards are met by verifying packed product is labeled accurately; notify appropriate support for nonconforming parts
• Must maintain shipping standards to meet internal and external customer demand
• Responsible for the accurate completion of all paperwork, transactions, tags, etc.
• Adhere to all Life Saving Rules, including: Lock-Out, Tag-Out (LOTO), Machine Guarding/Bypassing Safety Controls, and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) safety protocols
• Ensure Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost metrics are met daily
• Support 5S initiatives in assigned work areas

What you’ll bring:

• One year of manufacturing experience preferred
• Basic math and verbal skills
• Must be trained and certified in all required material handling equipment, including powered industrial trucks
• Ability to learn to use and maintain equipment and machinery
• Flexibility of shift scheduling, to include overtime and weekends

Within 3 months, you’ll:

• Follow standard work processes and operate with a continuous improvement mindset
• Lead, assist, and/or instruct employees in the performance of their duties, as requested
