Social Media & Marketing Assistant Job at Hillsboro Hops Professional Baseball

The Social Media & Marketing Assistant will be responsible for working with and assisting the Director of Marketing in growing the Hops brand through effective marketing and social media content and strategies.

The Hillsboro Hops are the High-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Located in Hillsboro, Oregon, approximately 15 miles west of Portland, the Hops play at Ron Tonkin Field. They have won 3 Championship Titles since 2013 and are the recipient of the 2017 Bob Freitas Award, given to the best operating teams in Minor League Baseball.

Responsibilities
- Be an active member of Marketing meetings and participate in brainstorming meetings regarding the promotion of all Hops games and events and generating social content
- Assist with the management of current Hops social media accounts, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & TikTok during the season for both home and road games
- Maintain and coordinate a social media content calendar
- Assist Video Production Team with posting in-game highlights, replays, etc.
- Collaborate with all department leads for their social media needs
- Work closely with the Game Presentation team to create effective promotional social media campaigns and content for theme nights and other promotional elements
- Take photographs and videos of in-game fan reactions, game day staff, and experiences for marketing purposes
- Work with the Broadcast/Media Relations team to post line-ups, score updates, etc, and to promote team-related content and stories
- Ensure the execution of all gameday/in-game sponsored social content
- Assist Front Office with stadium prep and clean up before and after each home game
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or anticipated Bachelor's by Spring 2024
- Open availability Mar- September 2023
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Willing to work 40+hours during a game week
- Available during all Hops home games
- Extensive knowledge of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and other existing or emerging social media platforms
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite- especially Photoshop and Illustrator
- Experience with AfterEffects is a plus
- Must be able to multitask and complete projects in a timely manner
- Able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Must have excellent organizational skills
- Strong storytelling skills, through various mediums
- Ability to work in all weather elements
Compensation: $3,000/month; start date approximately mid-March 2023-mid/late September 2023; start/end date will be discussed during the interview process.
